In 2009, former Internet marketing executive Melissa Lanz decided that she has had enough. Enough of the corporate world that was, in her own words, making her miserable. And enough of the hectic, unorganized lifestyle her family was living – which had left them spending the cost of a brand new car on takeout food.
Lanz found a solution to both problems by starting her own business, The Fresh 20. A meal planning service for busy families, The Fresh 20 aims to make dinner a simple, healthy, and affordable affair. For $5 a month (or less, with an annual subscription), members receive a shopping list of 20 fresh ingredients, easy-to-prepare recipes, and a step-by-step prep guide each week. Vegetarian/vegan and gluten-free plans are available.
A passionate advocate for nutritional education and healthy eating, Lanz also promotes her cause through speaking engagements in her local Southern California and across the country.
