Founded in 2008 by Katie O’Neill, Kt Steppers is a mom-owned, children-inspired boutique that creates personalized step stools or steppers. Each product is hand-painted and designed for the client’s space and “little stepper” in mind, making them ideal gifts for that special someone or event. O’Neill, who had a benign tumor removed from her pituitary gland at the age of 22, loves being called a mompreneur. Because the tumor posed a risk of not being able to have children, O’Neill values the title even more. Now a mother of two, she finds support and inspiration for Kt Steppers from her young boys.
Prior to starting Kt Steppers, O’Neill worked in sales, where she learned not to be afraid to hear the word “no.” “For every 10 ‘no’s’ there is a ‘yes,’” she says. Over the years, Kt Steppers has been featured in various media outlets, including KTLA Morning News, Fox5 San Diego, and Martha Stewart’s Dreamers Into Doers.
