Leah Goold-Haws is the founder of Mindevices, a startup that builds tools that teach students about entrepreneurship and career exploration in a fun and engaging manner. Goold-Haws, who works with many small business owners through her marketing firm, wanted to give her three teenage sons the perspective that they can create their own economic success, even in a small rural community like theirs. Knowing that she would be able to deliver her message more effectively through games, Goold-Haws started Mindevices and developed Know Opportunity, an interactive board game and curriculum about entrepreneurship for high school students. She also created My Scary World, a career exploration website that helps middle school students plan for high school and beyond. Both programs use graphics, humor, role play, and interactive elements to engage students of all types at all levels.
A lifelong entrepreneur herself, Goold-Haws regards entrepreneurship with a global perspective as one of the best ways to empower people.
