The Former Attorney Who Created America’s Largest Hourly Job Site

Shawn Boyer is the founder, chairman of the board, and former CEO of Snagajob, America’s largest hourly job site. Boyer came up with the idea for Snagajob in 1999 while he was helping a friend search for internships online. He noticed that there were no websites for part-time or full-time hourly job seekers, so he quit his own career as a transactional attorney and started a company to help his friend and others like him find hourly work.

Named the 2008 National Small Business Person of the Year by the US Small Business Administration, Boyer has led Snagajob’s growth from startup to the world’s number one hourly employment network. Snagajob began as an online job board and eventually evolved into a community dedicated to supporting hourly workers. In addition, the company has created tools to help job seekers find the right jobs and built a comprehensive talent management system for employers.
