Scott Edward Walker, the Entrepreneur’s Lawyer

Scott Edward Walker is the founder and chief executive officer of Walker Corporate Law Group, a boutique corporate law firm specializing in the representation of entrepreneurs. With offices in San Francisco, Beverly Hills, New York, and Washington, DC, Walker Corporate Law Group offers a wide range of corporate legal services including startup counseling, formation of corporations, employment and consulting agreements, commercial contracts, mergers and acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, angel and venture capital financings, SEC and state compliance, and more.

Walker brings nearly 20 years of broad corporate and securities law experience to Walker Corporate Law Group. In the past, he has represented major multinational corporations (Sony, Daimler), private equity firms (Apollo), and financial institutions (JP Morgan) in billion-dollar transactions. While working at two prominent law firms in New York City, Walker realized the big firm template generally does not fit the needs of entrepreneurs. Thus, he moved to California, where startups and entrepreneurs abound, to try to solve this problem and launched Walker Corporate Law Group in 2005.

Since then, Walker has become a recognized expert in entrepreneurial legal matters. He has written a number of articles and blog posts for The Huffington Post, Forbes, TechCrunch, and VentureBeat; given talks on startup issues, financings, mergers and acquisitions, and other topics; and appeared on This Week in Venture Capital and This Week in Startups. Recently, he published The Startup Law Playbook ebook to help entrepreneurs navigate the various legal issues and concerns associated with startups. He also writes regularly on the Walker Corporate Law Group blog.

Walker is a member of the New York, California, and Washington, DC Bars and several committees of the American Bar Association. He received his Bachelor of Arts from Cornell University, Juris Doctor from St. John’s University School of Law, and Master of Laws from New York University School of Law.
