Chloe Peake and Matthew Traynor are the co-founders of The Edge Food Energy Company, a Vancouver Island-based company that specializes in portable nutrition. The Edge Food Energy Company believes that healthy food can be both delicious and portable. Its vegan-friendly energy bars are made with the finest organic ingredients such as ancient grains, seeds, nut butters, and dried fruits.
Peake and Traynor met in 2011 while working at Traynor’s family bakery. They wondered why there were still no high-quality food options for active people that tasted great and were packed with nutrients. After some dreaming, researching, and product sampling, the duo launched The Edge Food Energy Company with a product line based on Peake’s creations.
All bars are manufactured at the Traynors’ family bakery in Qualicum Beach. A business with a strong focus on sustainability, The Edge Food Energy Company is the first and only company in Canada to package nutrition bars in 100 percent compostable film.
