Jennell Stewart is the founder and editor-in-chief of Kinky Curly Coily Me!, a beauty website for natural-haired women. When Stewart decided to embrace her natural hair in March 2010, she began blogging about it, creating Kinky Curly Coily Me! to track her journey and to share it with others. Within two years, she had transformed her blog into a natural hair care website for women seeking hair education and support.
Dedicated to educating and uplifting women with kinky, curly, coily natural hair, Steward has been featured in Black Enterprise, Vibe Vixen, Essence, Black Hair Media, Rolling Out, Tribe Called Curl, and other media outlets. She has also appeared on The Dr. Oz Show as a beauty expert and participated in various natural hair panels. In 2012, Stewart was named one of Essence’s top Instagrammers and Kinky Curly Coily Me! was voted the favorite website of the natural hair community.
Stewart holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and philosophy from the University of Rhode Island and a master’s degree in special education from Brooklyn College.
